capturing the world...and ghosts???

It's been a busy stressed out week, but humbling and blessed time in my life. I've been busy with work but had a great weekend capturing home with my new snapper. And I've become quite the snapper!

Dad and I drove to Howorth in our new 'Twinkle', well I did the driving while Dad gave the directions. I didn't mind though as it was a gorgeous hot day. I was a little hung over from the night before so work wasn't an option. HA! I really needed to try this camera out more and desperately needed some new shots for 'inspiration' for the art. I had in mind some beautiful rows of classic english cottages covered with blooming flowers...well there was cottages and flowers, but they wern't quite in bloom. But I got some nice shots non the less...and more than I bargained for so it would seem!

Bronte country is very attractive, known best for the famous writers who hail from there..that's right the Bronte sisters: Charlotte, Emily and Anne. Their fathers parsonage is located right next to the family church where he was a priest. The house is virtually untouched apart from an extension added some years ago. It is preserved and the deco is just as it was at the time the Brontes lived there.

Well, being an attractive house I wanted to snaps, so snap I did. I took several shots of the front of the house 5/6 maybe. Then we ventured into the main town...well here's the exciting part..when I got home and uploaded them onto my computer I noticed in two of the shots of the house there was what appeared to be a man's face in one of the windows! BIG SHOCK!

I sat there for ever and studied it then after Dad's viewing..and minor alternatives and viewing a portrait of Branwell Bronte (the brother), I was pretty sure I had captured a ghost! The likeness was sooo like Branwell, he even had a beard and glasses, just like Branwell. I have sent the images away to be analysed by paranormal specialists..I just need clarification on what it is I have captured!! But it was seriously freaky and exciting at the same time!!

Twinkle

Our new car nicknamed 'Twinkle' as suggested by Frank, thanks for that one Frank :) It was only fair he returned the favour of christening the new motor after me naming so many of his

It's a perfect runner, very quiet and easy to handle. Great for getting us from A to B...and on occasion point C! We bought it for Mum and I but Dad's insured to drive it also. Athough we joked he'll never use it as Mum and I will hog it!! It was a good deal too, it's a 1 litre petrol engine (very economic), air con, electric doors, locks and windows, AND it only had 59000 miles on the clock when we purchased it..my little 'old banger' will be scrapped tomorrow :(

Glamourous indie rock & roll nights

oh dear, look at those dreamy eyes....
I'm suprised I'm not deaf yet!.....

The Birthday Girl, Sammie!!!

Yeah both of these were mine!!....

BIG smiles.....:)

life is rosy

So much has happened within the past 2 weeks of my life. Firstly, it's been so good to catch up with all my girlfriends (Sam, Rachel, Lisa and Kirsty) the latter having not seeing them for months, I love you all! Good news for Lisa, she's expecting her first child in October very exciting. I had a nice suprise from Kirsty too after she popped into my gallery, her little one Mia Grace has grown so fast, she was barely 5 months old when I saw her last and now she's almost 19 months! Time sure does fly by....

Secondly, work wise, it's picking up slowly I've had a busy fortnight undertaking 3 commissions besides selling work off the gallery wall too, every penny counts right now but still so tempting to spend rather than save. There is so much I want and need right now. Nights out is one of them! lol

Thirdly, Lois confirmed that we would be staying with them during our trip, can't believe it's just over 3 weeks away, it's creeping up fast now! Better for us, it means we don't have to search for hotels again not only that it's forking out the money too. Our treat will be to take Lois, Cass and the twins to a meal out somewhere. She's promised us fish n' chips in a pub in Santa Monica, an English pub would you believe? called the Kings Head, very English sir!

Mr Snappy

My friend Sam and I nicknamed my new camera Mr Snappy #2! Here are a few practice shots of just what it can do!!

Speaking of, I havn't seen Sam for ages but it's her birthday weekend next week and so no doubt it'll be drinks all round then :) Just as well I need a real good night out with my girlies, Rachel is the first one on the list, we're having a catch up this weekend by partying our arses off. She recently bought her wedding dress after about a year of planning which one was for her so maybe this was her excuse to celebrate she finally made a decision on one! HA! I'm sure she wouldn't mind me saying that....

Dad and I caught up with our movie Wednesday having missed last weeks opening of X-Men, The origins of Wolverine, and may I say what a movie! That Hugh Jackman is so hot :) Seeing him with his shirt off throughout the movie was to my delight, I can't speak on Dad's behalf I'm certain he did nothing for him! Next week's film is as yet undecided it's a toss between the new Tim Burton movie 'Coraline' and this new brand new 'Star Trek', which has been given a lot of hype to my knowledge...I'm sure it will be good no matter what!

'Attentive' (new piece)

I think I really outdid myself on this one..not that I'm blowing my own trumpet of course but this has turned out to be the finest colour piece yet, it should be having used half a set of brilliant and needless to say expensive pencils!

Things are starting to pick up on the work side of life. I have one commission on presently and 3 or 4 due in the pipeline within the next few weeks and even managed to sell one of my more expensive pieces off the gallery wall the other day, the more the better all for spends for L.A...jeez can you believe it's only 6 weeks away now!

My Dad bought a new camera for me yesterday- it's ace! FujiFinepix J120, a smart buy. It will do perfect for America...all for now!
